Diabetes Treatment
In Ayurveda, the treatment for Diabetes is extremely effective and in 85 % of the cases, it can be completely treated. There are two major medications that are used in the treatment of Diabetes – Cow urine and herbs.
Karela, Neem, Jamun, Amla, Haldi and many other ingredients are giving fabulous results. However, cow urine actually makes the pancreas active and gets natural insulin secretion so effective that the patient feels better much faster.
What does these herbs and cowurnie actually do?
The actual effect of these herbs are as below:
- Balancing the metabolism
- Reducing glucose level from urine and blood
- Controlling frequency of urination and strengthening bladder muscles.
- Balancing the digestive enzymes in such a way that it reduces the desire for water and food comparatively and helps absorb the nutrients of the food taken in timely manner.
- Providing strength to the muscles in the extremities.
What does allopathy medicines do in Diabetes?
- Control glucose levels by inducing external insulin
It does have severe and slow side effect on liver, kidneys and eyes, which causes damages in the inner cells over the period and never provides strength to the other organs which get weaker due to weak metabolism.

What are good dietary habits??
The act of eating is life-giving. The process of eating is important for development of consciousness as well as our physical health.
First of all, sit down to ear. Do not stand, walk or drive through the meal. Enjoy the meal for good digestion. Do not talk much to someone or on the phone, read or watch television while eating. These activities take away the enjoyment of eating and digestion. Slow eating habits also create indigestion. These additional activities may result in weak stimulation of Pachak Agni and hence forth creates fatigue after eating.
Second and most important, eat only one third of your stomach need. Wheit is time for meal, one should fill the stomach with one third water, one third food and one third must be kept empty for proper movements and absorption of food.
In diabetic conditions, pregnancy, hypertension and obesity, one should take smaller meals in every four hours. This brings better Pachak Agni into action and helps in proper nutrient absorption.
And of course, last but not the least, eat healthy food. Boiled, baked and stir fried food is better than deep fried, overcooked and broiled food. Marinated salads, sprouts, yoghurt and variety of drinks at the time of food can bring in great salivatary fluids, which will help digest the food and further down for absorption as well.
We also had question as to whether to drink water in between the meal. There are quite a few different opinions in this matter. However, you can take good amount fo water before meal, in between the meal, but must avoid water immediately after the meal. One should not take water for one to two hours after the meal. This calms the Pachak agni for a long time and having such habit creates bulging of stomach.

Gas, Heartburn, Bloating and Belching
Producing gas in the stomach is a natural process. But passing gas is certainly an embarrassing situation. Bacterias in stomach produce gas and in normal conditions, other bacteria in the stomach are supposed to absorb it. As per Ayurveda, in every meal time, one should fill the stomach with one third water, one third food and one third must be kept empty for gas movements. This keeps one active with good digestion of food.
However, due to constant stress in our lives, delayed timings of meals, stress, late nights etc., it has become very common symptom for most of the working class people to have the complain of heartburn and gas. Before taking any other medications, it is indeed better solution to correct the dietary habits. But if not possible, Sootshekhar Rasatabs are the best medications to avoid acidity, indigestion, heart burn. In some conditions, where constipation is also a cause to create gastric disturbances, Avipattikar Churna has been an excellent medication giving good results.

Paralysis? Come Back to Normal
Paralysis is the complete or partial loss of one or more muscles in the body. Paralysis is a symptom caused as an after effect of damage to Nervous System. Damage to nervous system is caused by metabolic dysfunction or infection.
In Ayurveda, diagnosis is much more important than treatment. Depending on the causes, the treatment is applied. In case of metabolic dysfunction, such as hypertension or diabetes, it is mandatory to bring the blood pressure and sugar level to normal. At the same time, the patient is benifited very much by Ekangveer Rasa, Nirgundi Oil massage on affected areas and Brahmi Ghrit Nasya along with the blood pressure suppressant and sugar balancing therapies. In our opinion, based on levels of pressure and sugar in the blood, the balancing treatment should be given. In most cases, Anulom Vilom pranayaam, Kapalbhanti Pranayaam and Sheetali Pranayaam done early morning on daily basis for at least 2-3 minutes each helps oxygenation and rejuvenation to brain cells and it clears the blood thrombosis and improves nervous system fantastically.
Let us give you an excellent exmple – A 67 years old lady, obese, got a stroke in January this year and she is back to normal in March. It is not a magic. It is dedication towards doing daily Pranayaam, little bit of physio and taking right medication. At this age, what she wants is confidence of handlign herself on her own, which she got back.
Another example of an infant affected by poliomyelitis at the age of one ye. When mother noticed that her child who was able to walk before a fever spike is not able to walk anymore after the fever is treated comes to us asking for help. It was good that she took Ayurvedic help at an early stage. Within just 30 days of medication, little bit of physio and massage to the affected areas of the child’s body, the child recovered. It was not a magic. It was a discipline and faith on herbal medicines of the mother, which gave a normal life to the child. Indeed, mother is the greatest creation of God! And of course, indeed – Ayurveda!!

"Health can be maintained and disease can be prevented. Though technology is advancing, people are still falling sick. Health care costs keep on increasing, and there is no way to reduce that unless you introduce prevention. The best prevention is through Ayurveda, because it is a very comprehensive system, since it is based on natural medicine, which is devoid of toxicity."
- Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, Hon’ble former President of India spoke about Ayurveda.
