This day is marked as International Diabetes Day by the International Diabetes Federaiton and WHO. The theme for this day is “Diabetes Education and Prevention”. Diabetes is a disease in which our body do not produce enough “insulin” which can digest and absorb necessary sugar in the body. Hence the sugar is excreted in mixed in the blood and urine as an external factor causing many painful symptoms indifferent parts of the body.
Diabetes is not a disease of the old. In the last decade, the incidence among people in the age around 30′s has jumped up by 70 %. Anyone can suffer from Diabetes. There are few factors that increase risk for diabetes, such as family history, lack of physical exercise in daily routine, excessive sugar and salt intake and high emotional and mental stress levels.
Warning signs of Diabetes are frequent urination, increased thirst and hunger, weight loss, tingling numbness in hands and feet and in some cases giddiness and heaviness in head.
