  • Having bitter gourd cooked in ghee for a period of three months may be able to bring the sugar level down by a significant amount.
  • A tablespoon of Indian gooseberry juice mixed with a pinch of turmeric powder in in, taken daily for two months will enable the pancreas to secrete insulin.
  • Drinking a glass of water with tulsi leaves, neem leaves and belpatras daily helps in keeping diabetic complications due to infections under control.
  • Mixture of  Fenugreek seeds, turmeric powder and white pepper – Taken one teaspoon of this powder daily can help in balancing diabetic complications on lower body muscles and blood related infections.
  • Drinking 2 glasses of water from a copper vessel in the morning can help subside allergies and increase immunity in Diabetic patients.

A diabetic patient suffering from abscess (or boils) goes through severe painful condition for weeks or sometimes months.  Indeed, Diabetes and abscess is certainly a severe condition.  Furthermore, frequent boils cannot be prevented in the conventional Allopathy method of treatment.   Ayurveda has the ability to completely control, prevent and cure such an abscess successfully.

I also came across a patient story recently, where he had to go through surgery incurred a treatment bill of USD 50,000 to get the abscess removed. What to eat in Diabetes?

There are quite a few suggestions and notes available everywhere on the net for Diabetic food. Here are our suggestions on what to eat in diabetes :

- Barley
- Whole grains
- Black chick peas roasted and light salted
- Madhupatra in sweets, tea, coffee or any cold drinks that one likes to take. It tastes 5 times sweeter than regular sugar and still helps reduce blood glucose level.
- Sprouts of Moong, Soya and black or green Chick peas.
- Green salads, including cucumber, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, beetroot, red cabbage and tofu.
- Soyabeans made in different forms with olive oil.
- High amount of Turmeric root.

Isn’t it nice to know that so many veggies are there in variety of forms and norms to eat for Diabetic persons? Yes it is. Eating more veggies will help you improve your metabolism and reduce risk of any health disorders at any age.

Diabetes is a metabolic disorder seen commonly in societies with luxurious but stressful lifestyle.

- Sedentary lifestyle with lesser physical exercise and more mental stress
